Φωτογραφία για Recognition or Termination? SYRIZA AND THE TRAP OF THE LOAN AGREEMENTS

There is no serious doubt any more for the electoral success of SYRIZA next Sunday. The new parliament will probably have a stable "anti-memorandum" (*) majority SYRIZA-An. Ell.(Independent Greeks).

We hope it will have an equally strong "anti-memorandum" will. And that the Greek people will be mobilized to support this will and also prevent any unacceptable capitulations.

The problem for both "anti-memorandum" parties however does not end, it rather begins on Sunday. We appreciate as extremely unlikely the confirmation of  the 'narrative' for a relatively easy / smooth post-election process.

What is happening in Greece is not a mistake or a coincidence. It is the cutting edge of a radical "counterrevolution" in Europe.  Only a very strong popular movement, very conscious as to what it wants, with strong technocratic preparation and international support, can hope to stop it.

The process of enslavement-destruction of Greece that continues for five years, is organized   "legally" by the loan agreements and MoU that accompanied them, economically by the obligation of servicing an unsustainable debt.

It is this obligation that led to the great crash of GDP, to the monstrous unemployment statistics, to the destruction of the country's health and security systems.

The loan agreements are in reality the very "heart" of the colonial relationship established in 2010 between Greece and its creditors. It is there that we find the waiving of any protection of sovereignty, the introduction of the English colonial law and the Luxembourg courts, the mortgaging of all public property, the indirect prohibiting of Greece to borrow from other sources and many other clauses that are a nouveaute not only in European history, but indeed in the history of colonialism.

The Loan agreements organize the catalysis of national sovereignty and democracy. All power goes to the Troika of Creditors. It is not a coincidence that these agreements were drafted by the same British law firm which prepared the Annan plan for Cyprus – that is a project of solving Cyprus problem throught dissolution of Cypriot state, its transformation into a postmodern protectorate.

The loan agreements are a monstrosity under international and European law and they constitute essentially a Shylock-type agreement. They are the product of deception, coercion and of an international conspiracy to introduce IMF in the euro-zone affairs. They have led to a major national and social catastrophe, without any precedent in post – war capitalist Europe, they have endangered, the health, safety and life of Greek population. All this and more can easily be  proved,  thus significantly weakening the legal validity and the political sustainability of these contracts.

That's why the Creditors who want to insure their criminal outrage,   are  now shouting  all together in chorus, that we must abide all the agreed (Schauble, Lagarde, Juncker).

The creditors wish to see a new government of the left with recent popular mandate recognizing the loan agreements,  hoping to receive in exchange a favorable treatment by the colonialists.

We hope that SYRIZA will never recognize those  texts that abolish our national independence and our democracy.

But admittedly we have been unpleasantly surprised by some strange statements by some SYRIZA cadres.

Compromises are often necessary, as Lenin used to say, but there other different compromises. One thing is Brest Litovsk, another is Varkiza.(**)

The examples of Papandreou and PASOK, of Samaras and ND,  are too clear for the leaders of SYRIZA to entertain any illusion as to what will be their fate in case they follow such a path.

Anyone who will accept the logic of loan agreements  and Memoranda will be destroyed - and rather quickly.

But in the same time the Greek people will pay a disproportionate cost, and maybe the damage it will  suffer,  may prove irreversible.

An authentic anti-memorandum government must first begin legal and political denunciation of loans and memoranda, asking for renegotiation of them. It must immediately begin an audit of the debt, and also start all legal procedures,  against all those who accepted the agreements which dissolved the sovereignty of the Greek state  and organized the destruction of the Greek economy.

It has to ask for immediate aid, because of the humanitarian disaster and collapse of vital social and state functions. It must stop giving priority to the debt servicing , before the satisfaction of the basic social needs,  at the expense of safety and health.

Even if the situation will require to implement agreements and measures with which the government will not agree, it must do it without  "recognizing" them politically, legally and morally.

What will say and what will declare a SYRIZA government, would also have enormous importance, in any future proceedings before international courts.

(*) Memoranda of understanding signed between Greek governments and the Creditors

(**) The agreement of Brest Litovsk between Bolshevik Russia and Germany terminated the 1st World War in the East. The leadership of the Greek NLF and the CP of Greece signed an agreement with the government of Papandreou in Varkiza (February 1945). They accepted the disarmament of partisans. A wave of terrorism against the Left followed, resulting in a new phase of civil war (1974-49) and a bloody defeat of the left
